Georgia State Online R.N. B.S.N. degree program is designed for registered nurses with a diploma in nursing or diploma in nursing. In three semesters, you can complete your basic nursing coursework and earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Flexible tracks of less than nine credit hours per semester are also available to help balance competing demands. The program prepares advanced level nurses to meet the challenges of today’s complex healthcare environment.

Awarded for RN licensure based on successful seven credit hours and successful completion of the NURS 3490 Professional Concepts bridge course for the following courses: NURS 2061, NURS 3510, NURS 3610, NURS 3710, NURS 3810, NURS 6, 6, NURS 6, and NURS 3200.
Students must provide their registered nurse license number to their academic advisor prior to registering for their first nursing course. The license number is registered at that time.

Beginning in the fall semester of 2022, Georgia State’s RN-to-BSN program will enter into an academic cooperative agreement with other schools in the University System of Georgia. The partnership enables a unique learning experience that enhances your undergraduate studies. To fully participate in the partnership, students will be accepted into the program during the fall semester. This maintains the flexibility to complete the program over three semesters.

The School of Nursing offers several merit- and need-based scholarships to enrolled students. Students can search for scholarships offered through Georgia State and external scholarship websites by visiting the Scholarship Resource Center.
The largest Lewis College scholarship is available to many Lewis College graduate students. It is given in the spring and autumn of each year. Visit the University Scholarships website to complete the online application. Exploratory students (pre-nursing, etc.) are not eligible.

All graduates of the Associate Degree in Nursing program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN exam provides state licensure and allows the licensee to assume the responsibilities of a registered nurse (RN) in a variety of health care settings to care for a diverse population.
