This may be true because their internal data tells them something important. But if you think about it from the recipient’s perspective, they probably won’t read all five email newsletters in their inbox.
Those people will either pick one out of the bunch to read, or delete them all as I tend to do. And that means it’s not a good time to send a newsletter.

After sifting through all the emails I received, I narrowed them down to a few one-hour blocks.

Most emails are read within an hour of receipt. This means you want to hit someone while they are on their computer. Or if they’ve been sitting at their desk for a while—that email would be a great opportunity to procrastinate.
I would recommend hitting your email in the 2-3 PM CST window. Or even from 1-2 PM CST, but that would also fit in with most subscribers’ lunches.

If you’re afraid of being the only person sending an email at a certain block time, there are runners-up.
These are temporary blocks that are not ideal, but still better than most. This means that your email newsletter may receive some competition, but not much.
And if your customer research has shown that these times work better, then I’d choose them in a heartbeat.
However, other high time constraints are associated with daily work rituals such as arriving and leaving the office.

At that point, I can see your emails getting lost in the shuffle, or deleted in a big inbox cleanup the next day. So be a little careful when choosing such times.
One of the best runner up sessions I’ve seen is from 10-11 AM. It’s an era fueled by many in-depth data-driven publications and blog posts.
It really doesn’t make sense to me, but it gives your magazine a great opportunity to shine.
There was plenty of time for your audience to clear all their email stacks from the previous day. Chat with colleagues about Game of Thrones. Get their first coffee break. Feel that first thirst after procrastination.

In fact, we can absolutely say don’t send your email after a certain time based on the data.
Almost any time between 9pm and 2am should be avoided based on my results. Of all the emails I received, about 40% were sent in this time block.
You will be fighting a bunch of other magazines for attention. I think people who woke up at that time don’t want to read your magazine at that time.
