Best Time To Send Out Email Blast

Best Time To Send Out Email Blast – Like you, we wondered about it. Therefore, we decided to refresh (and expand) the study we previously conducted and identify the best days and times to send emails in 2020.

We only included SMB clients in our analysis and tracked campaigns that reached at least 1,000 contacts.

Best Time To Send Out Email Blast

We looked at what time and day clients send their email campaigns and what open, click and click-to-open rates they generated.

Cold Email Marketing Mistakes To Avoid

Thanks to this, in addition to viewing global results, you will be able to view data individually for the following regions: USA and Canada, DACH, EMEA, Asia Pacific, CEE and LATAM.

We could argue that the best time to send an email doesn’t even exist. Or maybe it is, but it’s not something that’s shared among a larger group of subscribers. It’s mostly an individual thing.

While this may be true, there are times when we have no other option but to manually schedule our email campaigns.

So, if you have to choose the best time to send an email yourself, this data will prove useful.

Best Time To Send An Email: 5 Reasons Why It Matters

Just consider the numbers: even if you can increase your email click-through rate by 0.5 percentage points (from 2% to 2.5%), that could lead to a 25% increase in sales revenue from that one campaign. For most businesses, this makes a big difference.

Just keep in mind that every audience is different. So compare these results with what you’ve experienced or what your gut keeps telling you. Use it as a starting point for more complex tests you will run on your target audience.

Every person is different, and if working remotely has taught me anything, it’s that we all have our own personal schedules and preferences.

Additionally, there are many other factors that can influence what might be the optimal time for your campaign, such as:

Therefore, if you don’t need to deliver your emails all at once, you may see better results if you tailor your communications to the needs of each subscriber.

The best part is that it doesn’t require any extra work on your part – that is if you use the right email marketing software. If you schedule your emails with a send time optimization tool like Perfect Timing, an advanced algorithm will take care of all the work for you.

With just one click, you can ensure that all your contacts receive your message when they are most likely to engage with it.

Editor’s note: If you choose to send email manually, here are some tips on how to send email the right way.

What Is The Best Time To Send A Newsletter?

Global data suggests that the best time to send an email is either 4am (if you’re judging by the resulting open rate) or 6am (if you’re looking at the click-through rate).

While 4am may seem more of an outlier as only 1.2% went out at that time, 6am when 3.95% of messages went out looks more promising.

If your target audience is likely to read your messages in the morning after they wake up, then definitely try to send them at 6am.

This approach will make it more likely that your emails will land at the top of your contacts’ inboxes, pushing the emails from the night before.

Best Time To Send Emails: What Fresh Studies & Practice Tell Us

However, if your audience is unlikely to read and respond to your emails this early in the day, you should choose a time that makes the most sense for them.

A general rule of thumb suggests that a safe bet is to target your emails to go out between 8am and 5pm.

Within that framework, both the open rate and the click rate are the most stable. It’s also when more than 64% of all marketing emails go out.

Our global data suggests that days of the week play a smaller role if you’re optimizing your campaigns for open and click-through rates.

The Best Time To Send Marketing Emails In 2023

Apart from weekends, when average open rates were lowest, there was little difference between individual days of the week.

Friday, which topped the chart for opens, had an average open rate of 20.58% – just 0.73% higher than Thursday, which was at the bottom.

In terms of clicks, Tuesday scored the best, achieving a click-through rate of 2.33%. Still, that’s only 0.14% higher than the lowest mark, even when factoring in weekends.

That said, you should always consider who you’re targeting and when they’re likely to interact with your emails.

When Is The Best Time Of Day To Send An Email?

Come up with a hypothesis and test it. Who knows, you might find a sweet spot where your audience is most active and less competitive?

Marketers who send their emails at 4 a.m. can count on the highest open rates, while those who do it at 6 a.m. see the highest click rates.

Most email marketers send their newsletters around standard business hours, which are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. E-mails sent during that time period make up 81.14% of all the messages we analyzed.

Globally, we could see that open rates and click-through rates remained relatively stable throughout the day. In the US and Canada, however, these indicators seem to drop significantly after 10am.

Best Timings To Send Emails In 2021

In general, if you’re emailing audiences in the US and Canada, you’ll need to take extra care when sending your messages. If you can’t target each subscriber individually, it’s better to set up your email campaigns at 6am or around 9-10am.

If you’re targeting audiences in the US and Canada, you should pay a little more attention to your campaigns.

Friday and Monday are the two best performing days in terms of open rates. They achieved average open rates of 20.42% and 20.11%, respectively. Sunday, which finished at the bottom of our list, only had an open rate of 17.81%.

In terms of clicks, Thursday and Tuesday led the way. The average click-through rate on those days was 2.70% and 2.68%. The difference between Thursday and Monday, which had the lowest click-through rate, was 0.29 percentage points.

Making Email Marketing Work For You

You might say that’s not much, but it’s more than double what we’ve seen globally.

At first glance, it seems that the most optimal time to send email campaigns is 2 in the morning. That’s when we noticed the highest open and click rates.

Problem? Only 0.53% of the emails we observed in the Latin America region went out at that time. This means that the sample is small, while the chances of error are high.

After 2 am, we can see that the average results are relatively stable, starting from 6 am to 4 pm.

When Is The Best Time To Send Marketing Emails?

Apart from the fact that the optimal time window ends earlier (at 4 pm), these results are similar to those we observed for other regions.

In general, if you are targeting the Latin American region, it is better to send your email campaigns in the morning and early afternoon.

Most marketers send their emails between 6am and 4pm. This is most likely because they want their audience to read their messages right after they enter or before they leave the office.

If you have an engaged audience and great content, you don’t have to worry about the best day to send your email.

The Best Times For Sending Email Revealed

Although Monday was the best in the Latin American region, it was not significantly better than the other days of the week.

The only day that stands out is Sunday, which has the worst open rate (18.18%) and clicks (1.39%).

Most of the regions we’ve analyzed so far have relatively stable engagement rates throughout the day. After an initial spike, the metric remained flat until late afternoon.

The story is quite different for Central and Eastern Europe. Here we can see two peaks. The first from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the second from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Best Time To Send Email Campaigns Tested

Interestingly, the latter ends with the most successful hour, 7 p.m., when we saw the most opens and clicks.

This suggests that consumers in the CEE region start to engage with email somewhat later than elsewhere, but also continue to respond to it after standard business hours.

For marketers targeting the CEE region, this leaves more room for flexibility as they don’t have to worry about launching their campaigns in the morning.

Marketers targeting CEE audiences have the best chance of getting their messages opened and clicked if they send their campaigns early in the week.

What Is An Email Blast And How To Send It Right (in 5 Easy Steps)

Email engagement rates peak on Monday (20.42% OR, 2.32% CTR) and continue to slowly decline throughout the week.

For the most part, we still see merchants getting relatively decent open and click rates around standard business hours. In particular, the most optimal time frame lasts somewhere between 9 and 18 hours.

However, what is surprising is that marketers continue to send their emails later into the night. Over 18% of all emails were sent between 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM.

Although these emails have lower open rates, their click rates are not always low. 11:00 PM tops the list in terms of click-through rate, with 3.11%.
