The QS Rankings provide an independent comparative analysis of the performance of 15,200 individual university programs at 1,543 universities around the world. The program encompasses 51 academic disciplines and five broad faculty areas.

“The steady improvement that Singaporean institutions have achieved in our rankings is the result of a decade of investment and strategy development,” said Mr. Ben Sowter, Director of Research at QS.
He said that NUS has the largest endowment of any university in Asia today. “Benefited by this long-term preparation for its financial future and with an ongoing international outlook, Singapore’s higher education is growing stronger,” added Mr. Sowter.

USC ranked 2nd in the admissions category, 8th in alumni experience, and 11th in career results. Following USC, at No. 4, is Washington University in St. Louis. Olin Business School is the only school, other than Wharton, to have ranked first in our ranking when it did so in the inaugural ranking six years ago. WashU jumped eight places this year and ranked third in admissions and fourth in career results. WashU was ranked 29th in the alumni survey section.

Rounding out the top five is the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Business, which dropped a few spots to No. 5. Other than Wharton, UVA has been the most consistent school in the top five in the six-year history of our rankings. McIntire scored very consistently across all categories, placing 6th in admissions and 7th in both career results and alumni experience.
Ranking sixth this year is the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, which is down two places from fourth last year. Michigan also has a balanced approach, ranking in the top ten in all three methodology categories. New York University’s Stern School of Business fell from third place last year to No. 7 this year. Although NYU ranked well in admissions (No. 5) and career results (No. 6), it fell to finish No. 26 in the alumni survey methodology section. Mendoza Notre Dame College of Business dropped one spot from seventh place last year to No. 8 this year.
Meanwhile, Villanova University expanded four spots last year from No. 13 to No. 9 this year. It is the highest ever placed by a Philadelphia-based university.
