Career Paths For Math Majors – Both the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in Mathematics require a core foundation, along with additional courses specific to one of seven possible concentrations:
Each emphasis requires a minimum of 15 of a 400-level mathematics course, and each emphasis except mathematics education requires students to complete a minor.

A Math Major Can Lead To A Great Career

All majors and SDSs must complete a computer-based curriculum, regardless of degree and chosen emphasis. One of the following courses is recommended for most students: CSC 110, ISTA 130, ECE 175, or CHEE 205; Other options may require additional requirements and/or majors or minors in other subjects.
The seven majors for B.A./B.S require the following core courses, which must be completed by the end of the second year.

Remember that 254 is a lower division – students taking it may need an additional upper division.

This emphasis is for students preparing to teach mathematics at the secondary level. The education specialization has two main components, a set of ematic courses and a set of pedagogical courses.
