Cares Act For Small Business Grants – Cares Act funding allocation plan for Monroe County under funding agreement Y2287 with the Florida Division of Emergency Management. The Allocation Plan is attached. In March, Congress passed the CARES Act, which provides more than $150 billion in direct federal assistance to eligible state and local governments as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cares Act For Small Business Grants
In June 2020, Governor DeSantis announced that $1.275 billion of the $3.747 billion earmarked for direct support for local good governance in Florida would be distributed to Florida counties with populations under 500,000 through a funding agreement with the Division of Emergency Management (DEM). . )
Funding For Health Care Providers During The Pandemic: An Update
Pursuant to the CARES Act funding agreement between the County and DEM, the Monroe County CARES Act Allocation Plan was developed. Main points:
While Monroe County’s total CARES Act allocation from the State is projected to be $13,003,340, the current agreement does not mention the County’s total allocation amount. Under the terms of the agreement with the State, the remaining 75 percent of the County’s allocation ($9,752,505) will be available as cost reimbursement. A cost-reimbursement-based process would require Monroe County to spend its own funds first, then apply and wait for reimbursement of the costs incurred.
The South Florida Regional Planning Council currently has two programs available to assist small/medium businesses in need of financial assistance.
The EDA CARES ACT Revolving Loan Fund exists to help businesses recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, with the city securing $5.9 million in funding. For more information, contact Steve Foreman at sforeman@sfrpc.com.
