Monroe County has released all of the $1 million awarded in the second phase of the CARES Act small business grant program to 268 local small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Orange County, Fla. – Orange County Government received $243.2 million in Federal CARES Act funding. The county’s Small Business Grants Program will distribute $72.9 million to approximately 6,500 small businesses ($10,000 per business) to help overcome the temporary loss of income due to COVID-19.

In addition, $72.9 million of these funds goes to support residents. About $36.5 million has been allocated to the Orange County Individual and Family Assistance Program, which will provide a one-time payment of $1,000 to residents affected by COVID-19. Funds for this program will help residents fill cash gaps due to a late rent, mortgage, medical or utility bill. An additional $36.5 million was allocated to expand funding for social service agencies in Orange County.
