Charleston Southern University Graduate Programs – Congratulations to the Class of 2021 at Southern Charleston University! A private ceremony will be held on May 1 at 6 p.m. August 2020, December 2020 and May 2021 Graduation. All August 2019, December 2019 and May 2020 graduates are invited to attend the ceremony on Friday, April 30 at 6 p.m.

Due to covid precautions and seating capacity, only two guest tickets are currently accepted per graduate. All guests and attendees must wear masks and follow appropriate physical distractions at the event.

The full video will be downloaded and sent to all CSU graduates after the graduation ceremony.

August 2020, December 2020, and May 2021 graduates participating in the May 1, 2021 Commencement can pick up a graduation gown (cap + gown, cap for graduate students) at the CSU bookstore. If you do not live locally, we mail your regalia to the home address on file. If you applied for graduation after February 25, 2021, we mailed your letter to the home address on file.

Graduation fees must be paid before you pick up your cap and gown. If you have any questions, please call the bookstore at 843-863-8017. Notices may be submitted at jostens.com. Class rings can be ordered at balfour.com.

There will be no rehearsals on campus this year. Anyway, watch the graduation preview video here. Charleston Southern University is hosting two commencement ceremonies this year. A ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 1 at Buccaneer Field for August 2020, December 2020 and May 2021 graduations. Another ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 30 at Buccaneer Field for graduates of August 2019, December 2019 and May 2020. Participants must report by 5 p.m. To line up in their caps and gowns (coverage for postgraduate students). Undergraduates, if you have a 3.5 GPA or more in 60 hours at CSU, you will receive your credit card at this time when you pick up your name card. No graduate is allowed to put anything on his gown or cap. The only items allowed are honor chains (limit 2), steals and/or honor event prizes. Hat decorations are not allowed. Popular school members may wear a robe outside of their graduation gown. Veterans wear red, white and blue ribbons. If you don’t follow these guidelines, your team will not be allowed to wear prom to future graduations. If you choose to wear a chain of honor, you can only show two pairs on the outside of your robe until the appropriate time.

No medals, flags, scarves, etc., are allowed to be displayed outside the uniform except for the red, white and blue ribbons for American soldiers. If you do not follow this rule, the monitors will remove you from the line before you reach the top of the system. If you are removed from the queue, you can pick up your diploma at a later time at the registrar’s office.

This is a ticketed event. Due to COVID-19 precautions, no more than two guests per graduate may enter Whitfield Stadium. Ticket distribution plans will be announced the week of April 19

There will be overflow seating at the Whitfield Center for Christian Leadership True Conference Center and Lightsey Chapel, where the event will be broadcast live.
