Fashion Merchandising students have the opportunity to work on fashion projects with major brands and retailers such as Boscov’s and Nordstrom, and to intern at major companies such as Rag & Bone, Anthropologie, and South Moon Under. They also study abroad in England, Ireland and Italy and attend clothing and accessories fairs such as Magic Market Week and Coterie.

Students must consult with a potential graduate advisor to ensure that graduate credits are applied to the graduate curriculum. Applications for these programs are made in the junior year (ie, after completing 60 or more hours of undergraduate courses).

The Retail Certificate offered in the Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) program complements the existing B.S. degrees, giving students in any program a formal and cohesive grouping to take retail-related courses. The purpose of the Retail Certificate is to introduce current students to the dynamics of retail and provide them with some of the tools and training to succeed in this fast-growing industry.
