The Criminal Justice program at Gwinnett Tech offers graduate and undergraduate opportunities to potential criminal justice candidates looking to begin their careers. Graduates of the program often pursue careers in state and local law enforcement, law enforcement, investigative and security agencies. Crime scene technicians collect, identify, classify, analyze, and test physical evidence related to criminal investigations, such as weapons or substances, fibers, hair, and tissue, to determine the significance of the investigation. Private investigators work in many fields, depending on their job or profession. Some spend more time in offices, reviewing cases on the computer, while others spend more time in the field, conducting interviews and observations. Private detectives and investigators often work irregularly.

Students enrolled in the program learn the principles of criminal justice and participate in law and criminology classes. Class topics include ethical issues, juvenile justice, law enforcement, criminal law, and corrections—providing students with an understanding of criminal justice, law enforcement, law enforcement, and correctional agencies. The program is offered in the fall, spring and summer semesters at our Lawrenceville and Alpharetta-North Fulton campuses.
