Upon completion of the major or minor degree program, you will understand the processes and mathematical calculations used in profit and inventory planning and control in global textile and apparel operations. Our leading fashion design, merchandising and production courses equip you with technical skills in the modern fashion design process. Anticipating consumer demand, product development, merchandising, production planning and management, textile and apparel selection, and especially the use of technology in all these stages.
You will complete this college course with an understanding of culturally diverse fashion consumer relationships and the ability to use consumer behavior processes to succeed in fashion business.
The Business and Product Development (FMPD) lab provides workstations and supervision for each student. Students are expected to bring their own laptops and connect to a screen in the FMPD lab. Students will be notified when they purchase a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop and Illustrator). FMPD students may use PCs or Mac laptops, but Chromebooks are not recommended. Follow ITS minimum equipment recommendations when purchasing a laptop.
Graduates of the FMPD program are valued for their extensive knowledge of the professional apparel development process, as well as their creativity and problem-solving skills.
