Colleges With Music Business Degrees – The UGA Music Business program develops innovative, principled leaders for the music industry by educating students in all aspects of today’s music scene. All faculty are active veteran industry professionals and provide a combination of experience and relevance. Since the first classes were offered in 2007, UGA’s music business program has grown from 22 students in the first semester to more than 300 today. We have expanded our course offerings to include specialized classes in artist management; production; publicity and publicity; Publishing and Licensing; and the economic and financial fundamentals of the music industry, with constant development and expansion to accommodate changes in the industry. A large number of graduates in Los Angeles, Nashville and New York work in a myriad of roles in the entertainment industry.
The GSU School of Music’s music management program is designed to provide students with the skills and character necessary to help them become leaders in the ever-changing business of music. Music Management (Bachelor of Science) prepares students for a variety of management-related careers in the music industry, including both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. The curriculum is based on basic knowledge of music, experience of performing and courses in business and music management. Graduates can work in a variety of roles at record labels and distributors, or in artist and concert management, retail or music publishing. All students complete an internship with at least one professional company or non-profit agency as part of their program.

CEC in Coweta is a publicly funded charter college and career academy where 5 music business courses are taught. Three high schools and six middle schools are part of our programs. We have dual enrollment classes with many colleges. All teachers in our school come directly from the industry they teach in. Our Music Business program includes six courses: Business of the Arts, Music in Film and Video, String Techniques, Professional Vocal Styles, Internships in the Arts and Music in Medicine. Students can choose three of these classes to use as a path. It is strongly recommended that each student do at least 1, possibly 2 internships before graduation.

The Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business Program at Kennesaw State University is a joint venture between the Coles College of Business and the College of the Arts.
