Gwinnett Tech offers several options for an associate degree in nursing: the practice option, the LPN Bridge Option, and the Paramedic Bridge Option.
College Of Nursing
The associate degree in nursing (traditional option) is designed to provide a course of study that prepares the graduate to practice general nursing. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in nursing practice and prepares the student to work safely in the role of a registered nurse.
The Associate in Nursing LPN Bridge Option is for students who have completed their education as licensed practical nurses. In addition, the Paramedic Credit Option is available to students who have completed their education as a licensed paramedic.
The latest accreditation decision made by ACEN’s Board of Trustees for the nursing program is to continue accreditation.

Going Back To School To Become A Registered Nurse
LPNs and nurses can apply for a traditional associate degree nursing program or they can apply for an accelerated option and

All students who graduate with a nursing degree are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN exam provides state licensure and allows the graduate to assume the responsibilities of a registered nurse (RN) in caring for a variety of populations in a variety of health care settings. Graduates of Gwinnett Tech’s nursing program go on to work in hospitals, physician offices, home health services, nursing care facilities, and a variety of other settings.
In addition to working in healthcare, many nursing programs transfer to four-year colleges to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN). Gwinnett Technical College has established transfer agreements to facilitate a student’s transition from an RN to a BSN degree.

Atlanta Technical College
Assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. Provide nursing care to sick, injured, palliative, or disabled patients. Other duties may include counseling patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or providing case management. A license or registration is required.
The RN program prepares you to work effectively as a member of the health care team. This program requires dedication, critical thinking, collaborative skills and the development of good clinical knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
Our RN graduates work in clinical settings such as acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, doctor’s offices, home health care, hospice, factories and prisons.

Earning your medical degree is unique compared to other programs. You must first complete the prerequisite core courses and then apply for support.
Rn To B.s. In Nursing Degree
The registrar’s office verifies your prerequisite courses to ensure you are eligible to begin the medical component of your program.
Students entering the Associate Nursing (ADN) program or the Practical Nursing (PN) program must provide documentation of the ability to perform specific nursing skills before entering the clinical portion of the program. Students must be able to perform all the specific nursing skills learned and practiced as a CNA (recording vital signs, eating, dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting).
The nursing curriculum, in the ADN and PN programs, builds this knowledge and expects each student to perform these tasks safely and competently.
