Hold a master’s degree and have completed or be within six hours of completing a program of study (24 credit hours minimum as a master’s degree) with an administrator’s permission from a regionally accredited college/university.

Complete or be within six hours of completing 54 credit hours beyond a bachelor’s degree consisting of 600/6000 courses or higher. Applicants with credit hours or degrees above a bachelor’s degree must submit their transcripts for review by the program director. After evaluation of transcripts, applicants will be provided with a proposed schedule detailing the remaining required coursework, if applicable. Applicants enter with the understanding that not all classroom work may replace or meet the requirements for entry into a doctoral program. In addition, courses taken as part of the 54 credit hour requirement may not count toward the 39 credit hour doctoral degree.

It focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to effectively respond to financial changes and trends in higher education institutions. Students will develop their skills in the analysis and evaluation of issues from various perspectives – administrative, consumer and social (government and organizations in the private sector that affect the source and use of money). Financial management of higher education (administrative perspective) considers the effectiveness and efficiency of issues related to the use of funds. The consumer perspective (issues of access and choice in funding students) focuses on the source of the institution’s funds; State and federal policies and plans and budgets will inform the student of this perspective. Discuss legal issues concerning the college with trustees, administrators and staff. Examines the legal foundations of higher education in the United States to include constitutional provisions and federal statutes that affect higher education policy. A Ph.D. The student (a) will complete 21 hours related to the Ed. Core curriculum, (b) Total 24-26 hours related to the MD. concentration, (c) complete 6 additional hours of research-related credit, and (d) complete 16 credit hours of dissertation research—a total of 67 program hours. degree must submit an acceptable research-based thesis. The thesis shows that the candidate has technical competence in the field and has carried out independent research. It must add to or modify what was previously known in the candidate’s field of interest or present a critical interpretation of the subject based on original observation and research.

Dr. Jeff Pittman brings diverse experience to his faculty position in the School of Education. He served for more than nine years as the university’s vice president of student services. He also held positions as Associate Dean of Administration and Academics at the Divinity School; Assistant Vice President for Administrative and Additional Services; and Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid.
