**Do you have a bachelor’s degree and are you looking for a graduate student to earn a teaching certificate? Check out our Master of Teaching (MIT) programs. Most programs can be completed in one year and lead to a master’s degree and a teaching certificate.
This degree leads to two Idaho state teacher certifications: 1) Special Education General (K-12) and 2) Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE: Pre-K-3)
Note: On September 1, 2019, the Basic Academic Skills for Teachers: Math Practice test number will change to #5733 (previously #5732).
Once accepted into a teacher education program, you will complete teacher education courses. In order to apply for a professional year during your teacher education year, you must take the required Practicum 2 tests.

You will be at school three days a week. You can take electives in this semester.
You will be in the preschool program four days a week. You can take an elective course this semester.
Note: Your fall semester will be your early childhood student semester and your spring semester will be your elementary student semester. Students who begin their professional year in the fall will take Early Childhood in their first semester and Elementary Education in their second semester. Students who begin their professional year in the spring study elementary education in the first semester and early childhood in the second semester.

In this program, you’ll learn from nationally recognized faculty and gain hands-on experience that will lead you to a master’s degree in early childhood special education (ECSE). Be an agent of change and improve outcomes for all young children (ages 3-8), including children with disabilities or at risk.
Since this is the only dual support program in the region, successful completion of the program qualifies you for D.C.

Evening training classes offer placements and internships for working professionals. The program can be completed as a part-time or full-time student.
Lead faculty members are experts in developmental and educational psychology, behavioral interventions, and special education. They are nationally recognized educators with leading innovative work in research and practice in the education and health sectors.
Unique to the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area, our location gives students access to public, charter and private schools in the city or suburbs. It allows students to research, compare, and contrast schools based on different student populations, structures, and demographics.
The program requires two supervised fieldwork experiences. Students have the opportunity to practice in a variety of service delivery options for children ages 3 to 8 and receive mentorship and guidance from site and university leaders.
