Early Action Emergency Grant – Applications open soon for the Spring 2023 semester! Emergency aid to help qualified low-income college students who face an unforeseen financial emergency or hardship that would otherwise prevent them from completing their education.

Cares Act Emergency Financial Aid Grants Available For Students

The College Financial Aid Team called in “DASH to the Rescue” again to provide the students with the Early Action Emergency Grant. These funds can help qualified low-income college students who face an unforeseen financial emergency or hardship that would otherwise prevent them from completing their education.

This emergency grant is a first-come, first-served grant until all funds are exhausted. Students are limited to one emergency scholarship per semester as funds allow.

Roadrunner Rise Grant Application – CLOSED The Roadrunner Rise Emergency Assistance Grant provided over $1.4 million in emergency assistance to support our students affected by the 2018 Camp Fire. The Roadrunner Rise: Camp Fire Emergency Assistance Grant will provide assistance to eligible students who were directly or indirectly affected by the 2018 Camp Fire. The grant may cover tuition/fees, school supplies, transportation, housing, utilities, food and/or child care.

Q: Do I have to be enrolled in a certain number of units to get my previous balance covered?

A: If a student is not present on the semester count date, they are not considered “returned” and will not have their previously outstanding balance from the COVID-19 period covered. Students will be responsible for unpaid balances.

A: Book credits remaining in a student account after the 2021-22 academic year will be recycled to help other students cover the cost of books and supplies.

Q: What if I can’t finish the semester, do I have to pay back the balance?

These funds can help eligible students facing an unexpected financial emergency: tuition, books, supplies, food, transportation, housing, child care, and/or health care. Students are limited to one Dash CARES scholarship. Students who may have received a Dash CARES grant prior to August 20, 2021 may be eligible to receive a new subsequent grant in the fall semester of 2021. Unlike the CARES Act, CRRSAA and ARP require institutions to prioritize students with exceptional needs, such as students receiving Pell Grants.

Section 314(a)(1), (a)(4) HEERF II of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (“CRRSAA”) requires institutions to report to the Secretary the use of funds distributed from the Higher Education Relief Fund (” HEERF”). New, Continuing and Returning Students: We are excited to announce that all students actively enrolled in at least 6 units at the time of disbursement will receive a $1,000 Dash CARES Scholarship to help with educational expenses!

*The payment due around 9/10/2021 is the only scheduled payment for this grant due to limited funding. All students identified and eligible to receive these funds will be notified via their student email and via text.
