Generate & Send Salesforce Prefill Links By Email
When you send an email to a group of people using List Email, it will be sent as an individual email to the recipient instead of a group email with multiple recipients. Email List’s main purpose is to simplify business processes, not to replace an existing email program or run mass marketing campaigns. The Email List action is available in the appropriate section of the list view. A user can use the “Email List” action in the “List View” section. So they can easily select lead records or contact records based on their browsing.
List Email is nothing but Mass email. In the Winter’18 release, Salesforce added some additional features to Lightning to improve mass email. To separate these features, they renamed “Mass Email” to “Mailing List” as the additional features are only available in Lightning.

As you get to know Salesforce Marketing Cloud, you’ll notice that there are several ways to achieve the same result. A prime example is sending emails using the Marketing Cloud. Even advanced users can sometimes struggle to choose between the available options, but you’re in for a treat as I tell you which method to use (and when).
Can Salesforce Send Automated Emails?
E-marketing is at the heart of this platform as the core functionality on which the Marketing Cloud product is built. Depending on what you have access to, you can set up and run emails from different parts of the platform, such as Email Studio and Journey Builder. Let’s look at each one separately…
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Studio is where you create (with Content Builder) and then preview, test, and send emails.
Send Flow allows you to send emails to any type of audience, such as a list, data extension, or even Salesforce reports or campaigns.
Send Flow is Marketing Cloud’s original and most popular send type. This is especially true if this is the only studio you’ve purchased (ie your account only has Email Studio).
Sending Email From Apex Trigger
The send flow replaces the previous “Guided Send” in Email Studio. although the name has changed, the functionality has remained pretty much the same, including the user interface and managed streaming experience.
One of the many benefits of using Send Flow is the highly visual step-by-step guide that guides you through the process, helping to reduce potential errors.
When to use it: If you only have one email to send to a specific audience, stored in a list or data extension.
Note: When you use this option, email tracking data is not synced back to Salesforce CRM unless the target data extension is saved in the Salesforce Data Extensions folder.
How To Create An Email Activity Report In Salesforce
Go to: Email Studio → select the email you want to send → Click Send. This action will open the mission flow experience.
These sends work like a send definition where you configure all the elements of sending an email (select your email, sort send, audience, add CC and BCC recipients).
You can find this email sending type in Email Studio in the interaction area. This is part of the deprecated features of Email Studio (hence the deprecated user interface).
Send, you do it manually – you can send immediately or schedule it for a specific date and time.
Report Is Not Being Sent To External Email. What Should I Do?
When to use it: If you want to reuse the same audience and settings multiple times, such as a monthly newsletter that always goes out to the same audience (which is stored as a data extension).
Note: Be aware of costs when enabling CC/BCC, as each copy of an email costs money. If you don’t see this feature in your account, you may need to contact your account administrator to enable it.
Similar to user-initiated messages, Salesforce messages are also sent using Email Studio, even though their name suggests they are sent from the main Salesforce platform.
Note: Your user must be integrated with a CRM user for this option to be available in your account.
Salesforce Email To Case Setup (in Depth Example)
Triggered shipments are sent to individual recipients, one by one, in real time. This is after an action or transaction, such as receiving a confirmation email after registering for an event.
The fact that these emails are sent to each recipient individually is the key difference between push-initiated emails and user-initiated emails (even though they share the same interface).
Triggered missions consist of three components, two of which can be configured in the Marketing Cloud interface: content and engagement.
The third element is the criteria for triggering interactions, which are configured outside of the SFMC platform (via API calls). These trigger rules use the information specified in the Triggered Send configuration (content component) when sending the email.
Send Survey Using Salesforce Mass/list Email
If you need to update the content of the email, you can pause the interaction, post the changes, and restart the interaction.
When to use it: To trigger automated emails based on events that occur within or outside of the SFMC Platform, such as submitting a web form hosted on a website (not Marketing Cloud forms).
You can think of it as a view that Journey Builder sends from Email Studio. In this Journey Builder submission area, you can view, pause, start/restart, and publish changes.
In other words, you don’t do the actual mission from here. Journey Builder messages are created by default in this view to be managed by Email Studio.
Setting Default Email Template In Salesforce Service Cloud
Tip: Monitor emails sent through Journey Builder from this area, as it provides more accurate and detailed information about whether a mission is complete, queued, or has errors.
While this isn’t technically a mailing type, I wanted to include A/B testing – as you know, you can send emails while testing different variables.
The A/B testing feature (within Email Studio) lets you do just that. There are six types of tests you can run: subject lines, preheaders, names, sent dates/times, content areas, or even two different emails.
During setup, you choose your target audience, the percentage you want to experiment with for your test, how you’ll determine the winner (click vs. open process), and the evaluation time. As for the time period, I guess the bigger the audience you are targeting, the longer the time period you need to calculate the winner. The last step is to schedule the shipment, which can be immediate or at another date.
Sending Email Using Custom Button Not Working
Marketing Cloud Journey Builder is an amazing campaign automation experience that visually maps the “journey” your contacts will take across your marketing touchpoints.
The Single Send Journey allows you to send an email in three steps. First, select the email you want to send, choose a data extension that contains your target audience (add additional filters if needed), and schedule a send.
In addition to easy setup, another huge plus is that email tracking automatically syncs with Salesforce CRM for all emails sent. This means you don’t have to worry about saving your data extensions to specific folders to ensure this sync happens.
The multi-step journey is the perfect tool for anything that requires sending more than one email. You can design and create simple or complex multi-channel journeys that take your customers down different paths (branching logic) based on their interactions and/or data. Set emails to be sent automatically on specific days or at different intervals. Journey Builder’s canvas interface is designed so you can track your customers’ progress on their journey.
