Since 2013, Tsinghua University has created a graduate-level interdisciplinary and cross-cultural degree program focused on global public health. The International Master of Public Health (IMPH) program aims to develop the next generation of global public health leaders in developing countries through the participation of accredited faculty and experts from Tsinghua University and its partners worldwide. This English-taught course is specifically designed for public health officials, disease prevention and control specialists, and health program managers in developing and developed countries with the primary goal of improving health conditions and achieving health equity in developing countries. This program prepares students to address global health challenges and challenges in health service delivery, health product access, and global health policy. The program has four specific goals. First, it is to cultivate the ability to apply the principles and analysis tools of public health studies. Second, to increase understanding of public health issues in China and the world. Third, addressing these issues will enhance your ability to judge major health issues and your leadership skills. Finally, it aims to promote China’s expanding role in improving global public health by fostering closer relationships and collaborative networks between faculty and students.
International Public Health Masters Programs
As a regular graduate course of one year (September 2023 to June 2024), students complete compulsory courses, elective courses, field trips, and thesis writing.
Master Of Public Health Career Path
This full-time master’s program is divided into four parts. All taught parts of the required and elective courses take place over two semesters, along with field trips and thesis writing.
Each part consists of an introduction and presentation on a selected topic. Modules are taught by leading professors and researchers in health sciences, social sciences, and management sciences from Tsinghua and partner institutions.
During one year of study, students must complete at least 30 credits in total towards the Master’s degree. The content of IMPH is as follows.
Applicants must be government health officials, professionals in the field of disease control and prevention, and health care provider managers. Applicants must be in good health and character (meet the physical examination requirements set by the state and THU), be courteous and willing to abide by Chinese laws and regulations and Qinghua regulations.
Master Of Public Health (45 Credits) Overview

(2) Degree certificate and degree certification: Applicants must submit a bachelor’s degree certificate.
