Effective July 1, 2017, candidates may obtain a Certificate of Eligibility prior to enrollment in a 400-hour Temporary Education and Training (PTP) or Master of Education (MTE) program. The 50-hour course must be completed before entering the 350-hour course and CE is not required. Applicants must complete a 50-hour preparatory service program prior to employment.

The 400-hour, two-year, non-credit program includes a 50-hour preparatory course plus 350 hours completed after being hired as a teacher of record. The temporary teacher program is a 350-hour, non-credit course from September through April with unique summer sessions depending on the date the school district hires the teacher. Admissions are accepted through the application process and are admitted to one level of study per semester. Course schedules and costs can be found on our website. Courses are delivered online using a combination of Zoom and asynchronous classroom assignments.
All PTP candidate courses are available online to teacher candidates who are currently working toward their teaching license, who have a CE, and who are employed as full-time or part-time registered teachers in their school. The online course takes place in the evening and consists of 4 levels:

Tuition and fees for PTP’s non-credit 350 hour program currently range from ~$1,250.00 and are due at the start of classes. Step 4 requires an additional registration fee of $300.00 payable directly to Pearson for edTPA.
