Science Working Model For Exhibition – Vidhya Cuddalore students have developed a science project that has won awards at regional, state and regional science fairs, and now it’s on its way to nationals!

Vidhya teachers have the power to ensure that students are able to bridge the gap between theory and practical application, not just theory. It was difficult to bring this aspect to the classroom, especially when the teachers themselves had little practice in building this bridge. Vidhya has created curricula to help teachers guide students from theory to practice. So when students demonstrate a practical understanding of the concepts, they bring joy to the hearts of the teachers, the school, and the entire team that has worked so hard to create the teacher education programs.

For the past few months, three sixth standard students of Vidhya Cuddalore have participated in a series of science fairs organized by the Tamil Nadu Education Authority. Bharat R., Gowtham M.R. and Jayantnag K. students under the guidance of Science teachers Mrs. Nilofer R. and Mr. Egil Raja S. presented a working model of “Preventing School Bus Accidents”. It brought them second place overall at the district level of the competition, as well as second place in the explanatory round. Thanks to their performances, they participated in state-level competitions.

At the national exhibition, their intricate model was again awarded second prize. The Tamil Nadu Director of School Education and heads of education from various districts visited the post and were truly impressed with the clear and confident explanations of the students. When asked by the Director of School Education, “What is the benefit of the project,” Bharat replied, “You will save the lives of many future Abdul Kalams.” Several visitors were also impressed with the project and commented that the government should implement it.

The results obtained at the state level qualified the team to participate in the Southern Regional Science Competition, where they won the prize for the best entry, qualifying them for the national competition this year.
