Suny Schools That Offer Social Work Degrees

Suny Schools That Offer Social Work Degrees – Social workers help those in our society who need it most: troubled teens, abandoned children, isolated seniors, and anyone struggling with poverty, homelessness, or addiction. Some social workers help patients during the hospital stay; others serve as high school or college counselors; and many work with disadvantaged families to help with their reproductive, housing or employment needs. Some have private consultations, like doctors or psychologists, to advise patients who have personal problems.

Although social work is a notoriously difficult field, it can also be very rewarding. Those who participate in social work often describe the feeling of a “calling” to help others: a deep need to create positive good in the world. And there is a growing need for these professionals. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics has predicted that the social work field will grow 25 percent faster than the average for all occupations.
