Universities With Undergraduate Nursing Programs – Marion Peckham Egan University’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences provides undergraduates with a strong education in the liberal arts and the theory-based knowledge and skills to work in the emerging fields of nursing and health care. Faculty members are experts in the field and work diligently to provide a simulation-centric approach to their teaching. Mini-classes are a key component of the program, simulating clinical practice to give students a real-life feel for the industry.

Universities With Undergraduate Nursing Programs

The curriculum combines theoretical and clinical elements. With each school year, the amount of clinical work increases until nursing courses take up more time. To provide students with the clinical experience they need, it collaborates with many clinical facilities, including hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers and community health centers, public health departments, long-term care facilities, health clinics, and the University Center for Health Promotion.

After graduation, students are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse. The School of Nursing’s programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and approved by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education and the Connecticut State Board of Nursing Examinations.

The Egan School has created a unique opportunity to transfer to the Egan School for full-time undergraduate students who have successfully completed the university’s core requirements. Nursing classes begin in the summer between junior and senior years. Students join the Accelerated Nursing Program while maintaining full-time undergraduate status and receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in August following their final year of studies.

Mathematics is based on placement. Mathematics level 1016 or > level. If a student is placed on Math 1016, the next course is Math 1017.

Undergraduate Nursing Programs

Note: Choose from two different subjects in HIST 2200 or 3300 or PHIL 2200 or RLST 2200.

Students gain clinical experience at the following approved clinical centers. They will be required to complete 546 clinical hours and 112 laboratory hours plus additional training time and class simulation.

There are two types of internships that students can do: academic credit internships and non-credit internships. Internships for academic credit must be approved by the faculty and must be connected to a course of study. Some faculties have a list of internships available for credit, and some may approve internships that you can find on your own.

Accelerated Nursing Program

Egan University School boasts experienced faculty who inspire students to become leaders in social and health settings. These students are actively involved in faculty activities in terms of practice, policy, scholarship, and service. In order to become, individuals must first acquire an education. Students who choose to pursue a nursing degree in Illinois are lucky because it is one of the best states in the country.

There is no shortage of quality schools in Illinois. Illinois’ prime location in the middle of the country and on Lake Michigan has made it a business center. The state’s rich history includes many prestigious schools, many of which have top nursing programs.

But before you can begin your nursing career in Illinois, you must become a Registered Nurse (RN). To get the best job, it is wise to get at least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). To maximize your chances of getting a job in Illinois, it’s best to study in the state to gain valuable contacts and meet state-specific requirements.

The Valley Foundation School Of Nursing

Because nursing careers come in many forms, the top 10 nursing schools in Illinois are not ranked in any particular order.

Chicago is home to many private schools that are well known for their nursing programs. Several public schools have also established themselves as regional and national leaders in nursing education.

Located in downtown Chicago, DePaul University is the largest Catholic school in the country. Their mission statement is that they focus on education, and while it may seem obvious, their nursing schools show why. While DePaul does not offer a traditional BSN program, it does offer a five-year combined BS and MSN program. Existing RNs can skip their BSN entirely and enroll in the RN to MSN program, which most schools do not offer. You will have to pay to attend this private school, but the care options are huge.

As you might guess, Saint Xavier University is another Catholic school located in Chicago. And, as you might guess, SXU is one of the best nursing programs in Illinois. Students can choose a traditional BSN, an online RN to BSN, or a second level BSN. The MSN is also offered by SXU as a full program and as a graduate certificate. Nursing scholarships are also offered to help with tuition fees, so this may be an affordable degree for some students. Saint Xavier University has been awarded the Distinguished Center in Nursing Education by the National League of Nurses every year since 2007.

Direct Entry Nursing (ms)

The University of Illinois at Chicago is not only home to one of the best nursing programs in the state, but it also offers tuition for Illinois residents. This makes it much cheaper to get a traditional BSN here than at other schools. There are also six campuses for nursing students in northern and central Illinois, including Chicago, Peoria, Quad Cities, Rockford, Springfield and Urbana. Some freshmen can be guaranteed admission to nursing school, so you can know if you want to be a nurse before you start your freshman year. Also, don’t worry about the relatively low NCLEX pass rate; This does not reflect the overall quality of the program.

As a college (and not a university), Elmhurst has much smaller class sizes than other schools. However, as a university, you can practically guarantee that what they offer is worth the tuition fee.
