What Color Siding Goes With Red Brick
This Benjamin Moore classic comes in two of our favorite white colors. In fact, we chose Benjamin Moore’s Seapearl exterior color of the year. With an LRV of 77.95, Seapearl is an off-white color. Simply White has an LRV of 91.7, which is very bright. (Learn what LRV is and why it’s important, especially for white colors.) Similar colors create a monochromatic color scheme, while different shades provide subtle contrast. The plain white (painted here) provides a warm glow that complements and contrasts with the gray color of Seapearl (brick painting).
The Best Exterior Brick And Paint Color Combinations For Curb Appeal
Alabaster from Sherwin Williams is a great option for brick. This paint color reads differently depending on texture, making it a good choice for use with different types of outdoor furniture. Our designers used alabaster on the painted bricks, trim, and edges of the house above. If you choose to go this route, consider adding black accents, like Sherwin Williams’ Tricorn Black, to add dimension and depth. Tricorn Black was used on the garage door and front door above. Alabaster is not white, and Tricorn Black is not black, so they are not solid black and white. This wall and paint color offers modern, understated drama.
These warm, earthy colors and color schemes bring a harmonious feel to the face of the home. Rather than serving as a contrast, the colors complement each other. Olympic Mountain takes center stage in the brick, Jockey Hollow Gray adorns the soffit and fascia, and Simply White completes the look as accent trim.
A brick house with an orange clay roof will look fresh and modern if you paint the bricks beige or white. This special roof should be a focal point of the exterior design, and red brick can also do the same. One of our designer’s ‘beige picks’ is Benjamin Moore’s Grant Beige. In this example, Sherwin Williams’ Urbane Bronze accents add depth and bridge the contrast between the light beige and ceiling color. (Urban Bronze is one of the best Sherwin Williams exterior colors for 2021, largely due to its versatility.) Pro Tip: Bronze, or bronze and aquamarine, looks great with a roof. Ceramic tile in beige color.
Exterior Paint Color Combinations To Try
#5 // Classico Limewash by ROMABIO, Iron Mountain by Benjamin Moore, Natural Choice and Porpoise by Sherwin Williams
If you are dealing with brick that has never been painted, there is an opportunity to try lime. This beautiful effect gives the house an old, historic feel, with traces of brick still visible throughout. Above, our designers suggest the Limewash Classico from ROMABIO. Warm toned painting complements the warm exposed brickwork. This home has many beautiful, beautifully painted features. Here, the designer recommended green accents in Iron Mountain by Benjamin Moore and Natural Choice in Porpoise by Sherwin Williams.
No permits are required, but as you can see from our recommendations so far, we recommend using both Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore paints in your design! Both types work beautifully when painted over properly prepared brick. Seapearl looks especially beautiful in brick. This is because the front bricks appear white and the cracks between the bricks appear gray, giving a three-dimensional effect. In this home, all non-brick floors were painted with Sherwin Williams’ Iron Ore and trim and accents were applied with Benjamin Moore’s Onyx, providing a rich, deep contrast with the ocean pearl gray hue.
Best Front Door Colors For Red Brick Houses
Whether you keep the brick color red or go natural, grab trim can give it a bright look. It’s one of the best bricks and colors in our book. In fact, bricks often contain natural gray or beige stones, and mortar often appears gray from a distance. Painting the skirt in Benjamin Moore’s Jockey Hollow Gray brings out these tones.
In low color, mixed elements act as collaborators rather than competitors. This home has added materials like brick, rock siding, and natural stone that are all beautiful in their own right, but the color palette makes it a little harder on the eye. In this case, the right brick and paint color combination can make a difference. By painting the brick with a neutral Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter, our designers allowed the natural details of the stone to come to the fore. Metal mounts on the sides of the rocker give the home an extra dimension. Notice how flat the exterior looks in the front photo compared to the back photo. The onyx color of the coating provides another contrast.
It’s always a good idea to test paint colors before committing. Factors such as natural light, building tone and fixtures have a huge impact on how color appears on the exterior. Our friends at Samplize have additional 9 x 14.75 inch peel and stick paint samples of some of our favorite outdoor paints. Order a sample of ‘Real Paint, No Mess’ from Sammplize here.
Exterior Paint Colors For A Better Looking Home
Does this color combination look familiar? It’s the same as the triple figure 8 above, but the addition of exposed brick gives it a distinctly different look. Revere Pewter, Iron Mountain, and Onyx are three neutrals that work well together. The paint color helps define the architectural features of the home without it feeling too busy, even with the contrasting red brick and light mortar base.
Pale walls or whitewashing are not for everyone. If you want to update your walls to a new white color, alabaster is a great choice. The warm beige color goes well with natural wood. This combination, along with the black Marvin windows, completely modernizes the look of this home.
Here are some important tips on brick and paint color combinations that apply to the look of today’s homes. Bricks are often painted white, beige or gray. Natural brick works well with warm mediums. Light tones emphasize the brick texture, while adding dark gray colors to curtains and trim creates contrast.

Bonus tip for reading to the end: The brick and paint color combination used in the design of the house at the beginning of this post is natural walls with a graphite edge by Benjamin Moore and the roof, soffit, and trim painted black by Benjamin Moore. Today we will tell you which exterior colors are best for red brick homes and how to use them. Red brick is dark and dull, so any color we choose should be deep, clean, and not crisp.
There are many outdoor colors that go well with red brick, but let’s focus on the most successful types.
Siding Colors That Go Beautifully With Red Brick Exteriors
For example, if you want the look of white trim, choose a cream color instead of a clean or cool white, which won’t go well with red brick.
Choose black curtains for red brick walls or light-colored corners, and cream curtains for dark-colored walls.
This updated home was built in 1968. I chose cream instead of white (Sherwin Williams Westhighland White) for the trim because the paint appears to be three shades lighter than the exterior. Even though it is white, the cream color applies firmly like a primer. Second floor tile was removed and window trim added. Painter, New Morning, Inc. They did an amazing job!
Best Siding Colors For Different Colors Of Brick
The front door was painted with SW Cyberspace to match the family heirloom and mirror. The floor, foyer ceiling and trim were painted a creamy SW Westhighland white to update and brighten the foyer.
The warm beige looks creamy and is perfect for a timeless look.
