If you are interested in a potentially rewarding career in Occupational Therapy, the College’s Graduate Occupational Therapy (OT) program is for you. We offer a 60-credit, two-year, full-time, weekend program with scheduled weekly classes. The program combines different learning methods including a mix of lectures, discussion, small group problem solving, collective experiences, problem-based learning (PBL) and our “learning by doing” thinking.

Our faculty includes occupational therapists with diverse backgrounds, providing students with a first-rate, quality education. Many faculty members have published in the field and are nationally recognized for their expertise.

Occupational Therapy And Physical Therapy

Students with a bachelor’s degree and the required coursework can enter the M.S. degree program. Students without a bachelor’s degree may apply to the B.S. The Health Sciences program includes prerequisites or pre-professional courses. Students apply one year prior to entering the degree program.

Graduates are groomed as generalists, allowing them to work in a variety of workplaces including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and local schools. The College’s Occupational Health program prepares you to work with a variety of people including people living with spinal cord injuries, cancer, stroke, autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and many other conditions and illnesses.

Many of our alumni hold leadership positions in the workplace and have returned to the OT program as PBL facilitators, teaching fellows, guest lecturers, and lab assistants.

Opportunities are growing for occupational therapists in the fields of health promotion and prevention in private, industrial, public and governmental or public institutions.

Accredited Occupational Therapy Schools That Don’t Require The Gre

The College exists to help our students and communities succeed. The new Interdisciplinary Health Education Program (IHELP) aims to expand training opportunities that provide services to children, adolescents, and young adults at risk for behavioral health in areas of high demand and high demand for graduate students. What Occupational Therapists Do

The College’s Occupational Therapy program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) (www.acoteonline.org) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 6116 Executive Boulevard, Suite 200, North Bethesda, MD-208. 4929. ACOTE’s phone number is (301) 652-AOTA. The College’s OT program is currently accredited for 10 years from ACOTE until 2031. Participants in the Occupational Therapy Program are eligible to sit for the national Occupational Therapist certification examination by the National Accreditation Board for Occupational Therapists (NBCOT). After successfully completing this test, one becomes a Registered Operator (OTR). Additionally, many states require a license to operate; however, state licenses are generally based on NBCOT certification exam results. A felony conviction may affect a student’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification exam or obtain a state license.
